Sabbatical leave is one of the most pleasant benefits, but also a chance to avoid burnout.
Sabbatical is nothing more than a longer vacation, which can last from a month to even 1 year, while the employer pays the salary pending the return of the employee (from 50% to even 100% of the salary).
This benefit is usually offered to employees who perform strategic functions in the company, their competencies would be difficult to replace, and have been associated with the company for a long time (min. 4-5 years). It is received by those managers and specialists whose employers care about them a lot.
Sabbatical leave is very popular in the United States. 20% of American employers offer it. It has also been regulated in Austria, Germany, Italy, Denmark, and France. It’s not regulated in Poland, yet it strengthened its presence among the benefits during the pandemic that damaged our mental condition.
Are there over-beneficiaries of Sabbatical who can share their experiences? Do you know companies offering this benefit?
