Culture, Diversity & Inclusion Director at CD Projekt & Journalist and Author of „Ciała obce”

We are talking about a very important topic: gender transition. I invited two wonderful guests to talk with us, who will present this topic from two different perspectives.

On the support provided to transgender and non-binary people in the workplace, the role of the employer and the importance of communication, is speaking Agnieszka Szamałek-Michalska, Culture, Diversity & Inclusion Director at CD Projekt. Agnieszka is also a co-author of the publication “Transformation. Good inclusive practices in the workplace.”

Paula Szewczyk, journalist and author of the fantastic book “Foreign Bodies”, talks about what gender transition is from a social and personal perspective, as well as about the challenges and difficulties transgender people face on a daily basis.

A non-binary person came to our company, and from the very beginning we noticed that the team spoke much less to this person. And it wasn't because someone had prejudices, someone didn't want to talk, or wasn't interested. It turned out that there was such a strong fear that I would use the wrong form, address myself incorrectly and therefore make someone feel bad, or come across as an uneducated and unprogressive person. And it was also a process of getting used to the fact that it is ok to make a mistake and if there is no bad intention or bad thought behind it, then it is normal because we learn it.
