How to regulate emotions in times of great anxiety?

Interview with: Dorota MInta
Psychologist, Psychotherapist, President of the STOMAlife Foundation

We talk with Dorota about emotions that we have recently had a lot in us. I don’t know about you, but I feel fear. It is not as dominant as it was at the beginning, when the war in Ukraine broke out, I have already tamed it a bit. However, my anxiety makes me ask myself many questions, I try to predict what may happen, and thus I regularly check the news, read dozens of statements by experts assessing Russia’s military capabilities, and I analyze the impact of the war on our economy.

Helping others in the situation we are in, requires great awareness and listening to the needs of the other person. Responses to trauma and stress can vary greatly. Not everyone is crying and sad. There are people who close in on themselves who, for example, do not want to undress from their coat or jacket.
