HR Compliance in the era of hybrid work

Interview with: Att. Sławomir Paruch
Partner at PCS I Littler Global

Despite promises made by the government, hybrid work has not yet been regulated by law. The situation raises many legal doubts to the employers, but also gives them a margin of discretion to establish internal regulations. Attorney Sławomir Paruch, Partner at PCS / Littler Global, answers my questions about returning to offices and the related controversy over wearing masks, vaccinations, as well as mobbing and discrimination that may also appear in the remote work model.

What can we do to prevent unwanted statements on the Internet or in electronic communication? Of course, we can punish, we can prohibit, but most of all, we advise our clients to educate employees, train them and show them what mechanisms govern online forums such as Facebook or Instagram. And its awareness that plays a key role. Showing employees a bit of empathy, putting them in someone else's role, asking how they would feel if they were commented on in the way that they sometimes get commented on.
