The Silver Generation in the labor market
Episode #9

The Silver Generation in the labor market

Interview with: Marzena Rudnicka
President at Krajowy Instytut Gospodarki Senioralnej

It’s time to break the stereotypical perception of the 55+ generation and focus on the age diversity of candidates and building multi-generational teams. The silver generation has enormous power that is unjustifiably overlooked and unused. And all this is happening in a market suffering from a talent shortage, which will be 1.5 million in Poland in 2-3 years’ time.

The 55+ generation currently consists of 12 million Poles and counting.

Marzena Rudnicka
The labor market should include, encourage and see mature workers. And on the other hand, mature people should start fighting for themselves more. The question is how do these two poles meet to improve the situation? Of course, one can hope that the demographic hand of the market will force the labor market to change in such a way that the age structure of the employed people will be different than today. However, I expected it to happen within the last 2-3 years, and these changes are not there anyway.
