Sensitivity to diversity gives you the understanding that the world is truly multidimensional, multi-threaded. We are different, we have different perspectives. Apart from the obvious gender diversity, we also have cultural and generational differences in the organisation. In order to be able to understand how certain things affect certain people, what impact they have, it is worth hearing voices from different sides. At SKANSKA, we have different management styles, different perspectives, because we come from different cultures and places. The financial director is from Finland, the vice-president for operations is from Romania, our lawyer is Czech, so we really have a huge diversity. We are 50-50 when it comes to women and men, but we also have different educations, nationalities, we are of different ages. This is a bigger challenge, because you realise that you can have such different opinions on the same subject, and you think that yours is of course good, or even the only possible one. But when you have a moment to reflect, you see the enormous value of being able to discuss, see these different perspectives and really draw the best from these different points of view.
